Watch Around Water is a very popular program in Australia, which was started in 2004 in Western Australia. The main reason for developing this program was a result of a series of tragic drowning deaths involving young children at public swimming pools. The incidents which happened in Western Australia however, inspired centers such as Watch Around Water and helped to raise public awareness of the safety of children around water.
What Are Our Goals?
Our main objective is to help raise awareness of the safety of children around water, but also to help adults to learn how they should behave in these situations. According to many specialists for this topic, even though children are supposed to be looked after the swimming pool lifeguards, nothing can replace the adult supervision of a parent or a supervisor. This is important for everyone to remember and keep in mind at all times.
